Depends, each char apparently plays best to a certain style of music.

Metallica + other similar music for my mesmer
Wishbone Ash and similar for my ranger
Lesiem for my war. (other classical-style music works well too)
and.. a general combination of everything I have for my monk.

alternatively, whatever happens to play on my b/f's comp or no music due to lag issues and forgetting that gw comes with music

I usually just throw a bunch of random songs from my collection onto a playlist and let it play through....usually consists of a variety of Industrial/Electronic stuff, with some Metal thrown in here and there.

Progressive Death Metal o.o
Progressive Rock!
Power metal
Heavy Metal
Neo Classical amazing.
Thrash Metal
Hair Metal o.o well..some..

I..can't help but wander..

My playlists vary from mellow to death metal..

If the band has played at Hellfest they'd probably be on my playlist (Dahmer, Foredirelifesake, Atreyu, etc.)
Older "punk" a la D.O.A., Crass, Dead Milkmen, etc..
Some random bands that probably didn't/don't have many fans outside of Canada (The Kittens, Slaves of Spanky, The Arrogant Worms, Moneen et others)..
Indie rock kicks my ass daily (Sebadoh, Pavement, Modest Mouse, Superchunk, Atom and His Package, Pedro The Lion, Boris The Sprinkler, etc.)
"Newer" stuffs along the lines of The Killers, Kanye West, Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Radiohead, Wyclef Jean, k-os, Brand New.. many more..

R.E.M. is my favourite band.. listen to them daily. Miles Davis is a close second. Glen Danzig rocks my world.

I guess a good word for my musical selections would be "eclectic", and at some point in time they all make an appearance while I'm gaming.

Currently playing: The Weakerthans - Reconstruction Site

I used to listen to my songs on winamp while playing GW, but the combo never seemed to agree with my computer well, so I haven't done that in months and months now...

My music tastes vary from day to day.. so it really all depends on the mood im in when i make my playlist.

I listen to everything.. Jazz, Blues, Classical, Experimental, mainstream, Reggae, Hip Hop, Rock, Punk, Metal etc etc

Some days my selection can go from Israel kamakawiwo'ole (for those who dont know.. an overweight hawaiian who plays the ukulele, who sadly isnt with us anymore) to radiohead to The melvins with Jello Biafra etc

Ive been doing a lot of runs lately and these songs always seem to creep onto those playlists:

Radiohead - idioteque
Radiohead - Maquiladora
The White stripes - Blue Orchid
System of a down - Mr. Jack
Gwar - Happy death day
Dillinger escape plan - babys first coffin
the melvins - sweet willy rollbar
Sonic youth - titanium exposed (one of the best songs ever written imo)
Sonic youth - the ineffable me
